Academic Engagement

I am an academic historian and theologian. I love diving deep into historical events, cultures, and people and bringing them to light. My academic work encompasses theology, particularly historical theology and the history of thought across the centuries. I engage with how people thought in the past and the implications for today at both Australian and international conferences.

Colorful Book Spines

My academic research explores the intersection of history, theology, and the Bible. I present at conferences in Australia and overseas. My academic papers come from my current research areas, which broadly focus on the sixteenth century and its accompanying historical and theological themes.

The Reformation of the sixteenth century and its impact on Europe and the world fascinate me. The changes that the Reformation brought to people's lives and societies were immense and shaped the world up to the present day in immense ways. Connected to Reformation studies, I love exploring the theological themes of the nature of the church, leadership and ministry, marriage (especially of the clergy), the growth of biblical literacy and accessibility, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Within the various European Reformations, I specialise in the English Reformation(s).
